The first is the World Premiere of “Psalm 23” by Joyce Riddell. Joyce is a performer and piano teacher based in Bedford, Nova Scotia.

The second is the Canadian Premiere of “I Will Dream with You” by Argentinian composer Santiago Veros with text by Santiago and Anthony Sylvestri. Kings Chorale was part of a Commissioning Consortium which brought this piece to life.

Even more exciting is that both of these composers will be with us at the May 13 performance!

We combed through all of our previous programs to list every piece we have sung in the past 40 years and the singers each chose their 10 favourites. The result is a concert that will have everything from Handel to a series of familiar Nova Scotia pieces. Special guest Christianne Rushton will add her solo voice to this performance.

Singers had an opportunity to vote for their top ten favourite selections from the repertoire we have done over the last 40 years. From that a list was compiled and repertoire was selected. It is a wide and varied list and we are making great progress with the music in rehearsals.

We are really looking forward to sharing it with you in May!
