Our annual Kings Chorale corn boil will be held at Lake George on Thursday, August 31. The first rehearsal of the season will be at Berwick Baptist Church on Monday, September 4 from 7:30 to 9:30. Join us for a performance of Allan Bevan’s Nou Goth Sonne Under Wode: A Meditation on the Crucifiction of Christ and The World Beloved: A Bluegrass Mass. St. James Anglican Church in Kentville will be the venue for these two dramatically different sacred works. Concert is Saturday, May 6 at 7:30 pm. Kings Chorale is excited to begin our 2016-2017 season on September 5 at 7:30 at the Berwick Baptist Church. Our first concert is on December 11 at 3 pm at the Louis Millett Civic Centre in New Minas. The theme of the concert is Christmas in Song: Sacred, Secular, and Silly.

Join Kings Chorale as it presents Earth, Water, and Sky, a concert celebrating the world around us.

In this program of contemporary music by living composers and arrangers, we will hear music written about our world. Selections will include composers such as John Rutter, Ola Gjeilo, and Eric William Barnum. There will be music by familiar singers/songwriters such as Connie Kaldor and Ian Tyson, arranged by people like Allister MacGillivray and Vancouver composer Larry Nickel. Internationally renowned Canadian composers such as Murray Schafer and Stephen Hatfield will be features as well. This is a concert sure to entertain, move, and thrill the audience.

The concert takes place at the Louis Millet Civic Centre in New Minas on Saturday, May 10 at 7:30 pm. Tickets ($12) are available from choir members or at the door.

Kings Chorale and the Annapolis Big Band are pleased to announce that we have been invited to perform at JazzEast, the Halifax Jazz festival! After the huge success of this concert last spring, it is exciting to have the opportunity to perform it again…and as a part of such a prestigious festival!
